Founded and scaled a music festival in Gujarat through the hardest possible years to run live events. Five editions, 700+ attendees, and still going — now with a core team running it and me in an advisory seat.
Starting a live music festival in November 2020 was, on paper, a bad idea. The constraint turned out to be the useful part: every edition had to be planned around rules that could change in a week, which forced a kind of operational discipline that a normal event would never have demanded.
Five editions in, the more interesting problem became succession. A festival that only works because one person is holding it together is not a festival, it is a hobby. Moving into a mentoring role — and watching the team keep it running well without me — is the outcome I am actually proud of.
